How to Get from Big Sky, Montana, to Yellowstone

When you’re embarking on a day trip from Big Sky, Montana, to Yellowstone, the closest entry point to the park is the west entrance to Yellowstone. The drive takes less than an hour and provides gorgeous, breathtaking views along the whole way. To begin, leave The Wilson Hotel and head south on Huntley Drive. Follow that road until you reach Lone Mountain Trail, where you’ll turn right. Then, turn right onto Highway 191 and follow it for about 50 miles until you reach Yellowstone National Park. The route follows the Gallatin River and flows between the Madison and Gallatin Ranges.
