Big Sky Resort Mountain Biking

Big Sky Resort owns some of the best mountain biking trails in the Big Sky area. This resort features an impressive array of winter and summer activities and is conveniently located just 15-minutes away from The Wilson Hotel. At the resort, riders can explore over 40 miles of action-packed trails. These are the area’s only downhill trails that are lift accessible. Whether you’re a beginner or expert at this sport, there is a trail for you. 

Beginner and Intermediate Trails

If you’ve never tried your hand at mountain biking, there’s no need to be intimidated. There’s plenty of trails geared towards newbies. If you take the Explorer lift, you can access a beginner and intermediate flow trail. Take a ride on the Thunder Wolf lift, and you’ll find more intermediate trails. 

Advanced and Expert Trails

Calling all mountain bike aficionados! Ride up the Swift Current lift, and you’ll have access to advanced and expert downhill trails. Additional expert trails ar found from the Thunder Wolf lift as well.

Beehive Basin

The Beehive Basin Trail is praised for both hiking and mountain biking. It’s a 6.6-mile roundtrip and boasts breathtaking views of Lone Peak and a sparkling lake. 

Moonlight Basin

Moonlight Basin doesn’t offer lift-accessible mountain biking, but the area does contain a solid network of base trails. They include Otter Way, Otter Slide, Ullery’s Lake Trail, and the Madison Loop.
