Big Sky Resort offers an afternoon snowshoe tour that’s peaceful and scenic. The tour lasts about two hours and begins at Mountain Village. You’ll meander through the Moose Tracks Gully, which is a 2.2-mile roundtrip snowshoeing trail with an elevation gain of 400 feet.

Another popular trail is Lava Lake Trail, which is 6-miles roundtrip. The trail follows Cascade Creek through a lush forest, passing waterfalls, rock walls, and a sparkling lake. The hike can get a bit rocky and strenuous, so it’s best suited for experienced athletes.
